Scheduled
As part of our long-term goal of keeping Immutable zkEVM Ethereum-aligned and as close to Ethereum as possible, Immutable zkEVM will undergo its first hard fork in the coming month to enable Shanghai (which includes new opcodes like PUSH0). see https://ethereum.org/en/history/#shanghai
Enabling Shanghai will bring us in line with the same execution rules that both Ethereum Mainnet and Polygon PoS are running. This hard fork will also allow us to integrate with Polygon Zero (our preferred Type 1 zkEVM prover) and enable shadow proving in the following months.

Please note, no downtime is expected while the upgrade takes place.
Also note that Immutable zkEVM remains a single sequencer running Clique with no separate consensus client; L2 consensus is coming later!
